- The idea that many UFO sightings can be explained by experimental
- aircraft seems highly plausible. The Skunk Works is thought to test many
- of their new designs around Area 51. I highly dooubt your claim of any
- electromagnetic or plasma propultion being associated with the B2 bomber.
- While the B2 is still kept under tight wraps, much of its design is
- declassified. I belive it uses standard General Electric turbofans for
- propultion. It is a subsonic aircraft, so this is a good choice. Any sort
- of plasma propultion would be a horrendous choice for a stealth aircraft.
- The entire idea of stealth is to give of as little electromagnetic and
- infrared radiation as possible while having a small radar signiture. Not
- only would a plasma engine require huge magnetic bottles to contain the
- plasma, but it also generate a tremendous amount of heat. Further, such
- an engine would have a low survivability in combat due to the volitile
- nature of the substance. The combination of low survivability and
- radiation would make such an engine a terrible choice for field deployment
- in a strategic nuclear bomber that has the radar signiture of a bird of prey.
-
- If the government is playing with such a toy, it is not something that
- they will let civillians see for years. It is doubtful that such
- technology is anywhere near the stage where it would be sent into combat.
